Competition Format

The Barclays Women's Super League (WSL 1) is the top professional women's football league in England and currently features more FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 players than any other league in the world. The league is made up of 12 clubs, with each team playing another twice per season. The 2025-26 season runs from September to May. At the end of the season, the top three teams qualify for the UEFA Women's Champions League, while the team that finishes at the bottom is relegated to the Barclays WSL 2.
